COMICS WEEKEND 2025 #2

This digital zine is the result of a two-day creative experiment, bringing together artists from diverse backgrounds to interpret the same character, Extora, through 4-panel yonkoma comics. Mentored by Nico Staro and Rebecca Nita, the creators explore the quirky world of Extora, a cat artist from outer space.

Extora is a creative force — singer, dancer, musician, writer, and painter — on a mission to Earth to challenge its artistic boundaries. On his planet, art is the only way to climb the social ladder, but he must first understand Earth’s culture to connect with its people through his art.

The zine follows the kishotenketsu narrative structure, where storytelling unfolds in four parts without traditional conflict-resolution, encouraging open-ended exploration. This experiment celebrates the unpredictability of creative collaboration and the organic evolution of the story.
